Atascadero Easter Egg Hunt
Atascadero, California (One time event during coronavirus)
We understand. The plague had come to California and we were all under quarantine. We all wanted to get back to adventuring outside our homes, but unable to Atascadero has a great answer for Easter's arrival!
Due to the COVID-19 virus, in the year 2020 people were unable to gather to celebrate Easter, so the town of Atascadero in San Luis Obispo county organized a city wide Easter Egg hunt, all from the safety of your own car! In order to allow for proper social distancing, the people of Atascadero made large 3 to 4 foot tall Easter Eggs, usually out of cardboard or poster board, etc., and then placed them outside their houses or businesses. People then drove around town to see how many of these eggs they could locate on their adventure! There were literally hundreds of them up and around the city. And it didn't just stop there, as the giant Easter Egg hunt even spread to other nearby communities, as well as other states, and even across the oceans to other countries and continents!
To see some of the Easter Eggs you can check out the Facebook Group devoted to finding them, as well as their awesome online map showing user submitted eggs!
